RAY EVANS 300 SBL GAMES
On Satuday 27th April, Ray Evans reached the milestone of 300 SBL games.
The Geraldton Buccaneers have continued their winning form, annihilating
Lakeside Lightning 123 to 66.The game previews stated the Buccs would have difficulty outscoring Lakeside who had five players averaging 15 or more points a game, while the Buccs had only two.But last night just the one Lakeside player, Travis Lindstrom made 16 points, only two others were in double figures. Lakeside's shooting let them down, they were 28 per cent from the field and 19 per cent from the three point line. The Buccaneers overall shooting was 60 per cent and 53 for three pointers. Scores were spread across the board during the shooting feast.
Greg Brown had 36, Alan Erickson 23 and 13 rebounds, Jason Bunter had 17 and Mike Farrell 14.
It was a big night for the boys with Ray Evans becoming only the third Australian born player in the league to reach 300 games, Michael Surtees celebrated his 100th and Jeremy Morgan once again suited up for the Buccs. Lakeside presented him with a shirt and some playing boots and wished him their best in his fight against cancer.
